If you like working outdoors and being a positive role model for youth, a YMCA Camp Kitaki Outdoor Education Instructor position is an excellent opportunity for you to support students in reconnecting with nature and in doing so hone their critical thinking skills. Most importantly, you will see students build self-confidence and find their individual strengths. 

 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Lending leadership and guidance to a group of students.
  • Providing leadership to educational and enrichment activities by planning, implementing and supervising curriculum and programs.
  • Interacting and supervising youth and providing role modeling and mentoring through participation in activities and positive discussions.
  • Communicating with teachers and chaperones to provide the best experience possible.  

 

PROFESSIONAL GROWTH OPPORTUNITIES
In addition to developing hands on skills in leadership, collaboration, and customer service, professional growth opportunities  include Red Cross CPR/First Aid Training, Lifeguard Certification, Kitaki specific Challenge Course Facilitation and curriculum development and implementation. YMCA Camp Kitaki is known for our DEIB work within the camping industry, a supportive staff culture, as well as our focus on Child Abuse Prevention.
